Reservoir Base Layout

This page is to help those who have already ordered a reservoir to properly set up the base.

1.  Make sure that you have the proper base dimensions.  Feel free to call the office to confirm those numbers.

2.  Pick a center point for the reservoir.

3.  Clear the site of all vegetation and top soil well beyond the outside of the tank base.

4.  Install piping per the drawing below.

5.  Install a top layer of crushed rock level to within an inch to at least 1' beyond the outside of the base.

The labeled pipe sizes below are recommendations.  Pipes should be sized according to the needs of your individual system.
4” Minimum sized drain line is recommended for cleaning out the tank.
4” inlet will be connected to and run up the inside of the wall to roof level by Mt Baker Silo.
6” Outlet line will be cut off 6” above finished floor unless otherwise specified and should be set 3’ - 5’ inside wall.
Check the drawings for the thickness of your tank base.  All pipes should stick up out of the ground a minimum of 12” beyond the top of the base.
MBSI will cut drain to height of finished floor.
All pipes should be class 52 ductile iron pipe with Mega lug joints and a gate valve approx. 5’ outside  the base.
